Texas Coalition for Affordable Power (TCAP) is pleased to announce the addition of our newest member: Roanoke, Texas of Denton County. We welcomed Roanoke into the TCAP family in January 2014, and we’re proud to have them as members, and excited to announce this brings our membership of Texas municipalities and political subdivisions up to 168.

Randy Moravec, TCAP’s Executive Director, framed the addition as a great beginning to calendar year 2014, saying, “We’re pleased to welcome Roanoke as the newest member to our coalition. Roanoke has a vibrant business community and a growing population, a perfect synergy with TCAP. They’re a valuable addition to our roster of members that serve 4.5 million Texans.”

Roanoke LogoThe City of Roanoke is located North of Fort Worth and just West of Grapevine Lake. This friendly city is known as the unique dining capital of Texas and is host to over forty restaurants, live music, shopping, festivals, events and more to make up the 5.3 square miles. Today Roanoke boasts over 8,000 residents, but in the late 1840s it was founded by just twenty settlers and didn’t acquire its name until 40 years later, after the Virginia hometown of a railroad surveyor.

With the addition of Roanoke to the growing membership list, we look forward to the future and continuing our efforts to help Texas cities save millions on electricity.
