“They were able to reduce our rate by half, and that is a tremendous saving for the city,” said Melissa Landin, public information officer for Harlingen.

Landin said the reduced power rates were made possible by the Texas Coalition for Affordable Power. The non-profit helps 171 cities across the state save money by cutting their power rates.
