April 14 — For years, environmental groups have sparred with oil and gas companies over air, water and even light pollution associated with their drilling operations.
But at a meeting on Tuesday of the Texas Railroad Commission, the state’s oil and gas regulatory agency, a strange bedfellows alliance materialized between the environmental groups and some of the companies that are pushing for the state to limit oil production as a way to prop up the industry.
