AUSTIN, TX, Aug. 10, 2015 – For the first time in this grid operator’s history, hourly demand within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) system today broke the 69,000 megawatts threshold, with peak demand for electricity reaching 69,783 megawatts* between 4 and 5 p.m. and 69,408 MW between 3 and 4 p.m.
