May 7 — Now that the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) has formally discarded any notion of mandating production cuts through its power of prorationing, independent oil and gas producers are left to fend for themselves and do the best they can to weather the economic storm that currently surrounds them. Given that most Texas independents weighed in against the concept of prorationing to begin with, this was the outcome they had hoped for in any event.
