Round Rock natural gas customers will see an uptick in their bill next month due to rate increases from Atmos Energy.
In March, Atmos sought a system-wide rate increase of $35.4 million from its customers, or 6.04 percent. Atmos Texas Municipalities, a coalition of Central Texas cities that receive gas service from Atmos, and their legal representation determined that the rate increase should only be about $10.8 million. After negotiations with the ATM group, Atmos agreed to an increase of $29.9 million, which is an increase of about 5.5 percent, said Susan Morgan, Round Rock chief financial officer.
