Two large Texas utility companies, Luminant and TXU Energy, now have a newly named corporate parent.
Vistra Energy is the latest successor to Energy Future Holdings, the company that owned Luminant, TXU Energy and Oncor and went bankrupt. These two companies spun out with one new owner. The fate of Oncor is yet to be decided.
