Midland Reporter-Telegram: Permits in Midland district drops 27 percent in two months

April 19 — The Railroad Commission reported in its March report that the number of permits to drill new oil/gas holes in Texas fell from 520 in the Midland district in January to 375 in March. Across the state, the number of permits dropped from 1,041 in January to 671 (35 percent).
