For Krum resident Fred Marrs, the decision to build a wind turbine at his house was based entirely on saving some green — not trying to be green.
“My electric bill in the summer time is pretty stout. So it is about saving money,” he said.
The 80-foot, 10-kilowatt wind turbine was completed two weeks ago. It was installed by his son Joe Marrs’ company, gleanPower. The Denton company was started in 2008 to provide solar electric and small wind power systems.
