Deputy Energy Secretary Daniel Poneman and Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst joined local leaders in Fort Bend County to break ground on the Petra Nova Carbon Capture System that will ultimately make the W.A. Parish Plant in Thompson the cleanest coal-burning facility in the world.
“What is happening here today has global implications from an economic perspective, energy security perspective, and environmental stewardship perspective, and that’s why it is so important to take the global lead on this post-combustion CCS technology,” Poneman said.
