Spot wholesale electricity in Texas slid as generation from wind was above expectations.

Wind power on the Electric Reliability Council of Texas Inc. network averaged 8,778 megawatts for the hour ended at 10 a.m. local time, above the day-ahead forecast of 8,425 megawatts, according to the grid’s website.

Wind production accounted for almost 10 percent of electricity on the ERCOT network last year.
