The Railroad Commission of Texas Friday is ordering the operators of two Azle-area injection wells to show that why they should not be shut down.

The move Friday came days after an SMU-led team of researchers Tuesday published their findings linking oil and gas activity in the area as the likely cause of dozens of earthquakes from November 2013 to January 2014.
