Jan. 13 — Consider Trump’s nomination of Pruitt, Oklahoma’s Republican attorney general, to be EPA administrator. Environmental groups have howled about his ties to fossil fuel interests and resistance to EPA proposals, including the Clean Power Plan, which would curb carbon dioxide emissions.
But Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) said it “warmed my heart” to know Pruitt was nominated for a spot at the environmental agency. He said the new administration could turn back the tide on “abusive, overreaching regulations” and work to reform EPA.
