An area organization has agreed to purchase wind energy in the future.
The four member cities of the West Texas Municipal Power Agency signed the agreement to buy 100 megawatts of wind energy beginning in 2019.
The energy will be purchased from Elk City II Wind, LLC, following approval by the Southwest Power Pool.
