Policy analyst  R.A. “Jake” Dyer has spent a quarter century monitoring consumer and municipal issues in Texas, its energy markets and ERCOT. A veteran journalist, Jake has worked at both the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where he named reporter of the year in 2007, and the Houston Chronicle, where he was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.

In 2011 Dyer authored The Story of ERCOT, a special report on the Texas grid operator. In 2010 he authored Natural Gas Consumers and the Texas Railroad Commission, which focused on gas utility issues. In 2008 he authored The History of Electric Deregulation in Texas, a TCAP signature report that he updates annually.

As TCAP’s spokesman, Jake communicates our message to the media, the public and the Texas Legislature. His work with TCAP and its predecessor organizations began in 2008.
